engagement ring white gold with stainless steel band for the wedding?

I have an engagement ring white gold, and if I thought I'd get special a plain band from Tiffany's – in stainless steel. Stainless steel can be used with white gold or will a difference in color or texture? I'm not thinking in getting the troops together, but do not want to be clear that there are different metals. Does anyone have experience in this area?

Stainless steel is not going to see how white gold. I have some stainless steel pieces of Tiffany (no rings, earrings and necklaces alone) and I think they seem .. Well, stainless steel. They need to be polished often and scratch easily. That's one thing when you're talking about the earrings dangle from her ears only, but honestly for a ring you wear on your hand … I would not go to the stainless steel route. I would invest in a better metal that will withstand the test of time.
