How do I go about getting into jazz band? A teacher can not have so much power … Right?

I've been wanting to be a jazz band for the last two years. This year the final year of high school for me and this is the most important make or break my year. We already have a drummer who also is high, but the dilemma is my director does not want 2 batteries, although it is fashionable with both of us and will not reopen auditons, but I'm better than the other (only because he got an award this year). This kid is failing grade 11 and not 7 – I line A. He is a lefty and I'm right, not only stupid lazy, and should be allowed to audition or should atleast have two drummers. My band director has a vendetta against me – I am a young woman and I belive that one is one of my problems as the music is very sexist. I have received letters of 7 reccomandation, writing an essay, and made a CD of my game a little jazz and funk. I can not go another year more with this anxiety and I know Im the best canidate, and he also … now where should I take this?

when I was in jazz band at school that had a girl auditions and won the job if the guy who is the current drummer is their lack of other classes and the band director is not a help wanted to speak with a counselor at school about it. You should be able to prove against blind, that is when you test there should be no indication that he is playing, just what is playing.
