What's next for Miguel Cotto?

What's next for Miguel Cotto?

Almost 4 months ago, we have seen an undefeated prospect not only his only loss professional but also his knockout loss. Miguel Cotto took one of the most dangerous welterweight in the division, Antonio Margarito. Margarito came into the fight as the underdog. But boy did they prove us wrong. It was he who reached the top of world turning off the undefeated Miguel Cotto.

Let's look at the facts of the fight. Miguel Cotto is one of the most dangerous left hooks to the body sport. Margarito has almost the same style as well, but never stop drilling. It also has iron in his chin. Cotto, on the other hand, fires on jets combinations, and has a couple of problems with the chin too.

The real reason that Margarito won the fight was his chin, and all strokes that has been rolled out at night. This man could have launched two thousand blows of the night, regardless of hand speed. He was also the one who dug deep into the body of his opponent, while many believed that Cotto would. That did not happen. Cotto just wanted to hit him in the head and ran as fast as possible.

The problem with this is Cotto does not have the foot speed to escape as quickly Margarito. Perhaps it does, but can not keep going for twelve rounds.

So What's next for the star of Puerto Rico? It has been rightly said that if Paul, The Punisher, Williams vacates his title of champion, will face Michael Cotto Jennings for the vacant title.

Me personally, I never even knew that Michael Jennings is. He looked me up is from Preston, England. His last fight was on February 2, 2008 by knocking out Ross Minter in round 9. Well, even looked me up, I have not seen you fight. So really, I do OT know what kind of threat who is Miguel Cotto.

Another opponent Cotto will probably be faced with colleagues is from Puerto Rico, Kermit Cintron. Both fighters have a thing in common. Both have suffered losses, only Margarito. Cintron will face Lovemore N'dou in November. He hopes to be the first to stop N'dou. Actually, I think it will happen. If Cotto, a smart and intelligent fighter who has the power, Cintron could not stop, what makes you think Cintron, despite success of his monster would be able to stop N'dou. It's just one batter.

N'dou should he get past that probably will capable of fighting against Cotto. This would be a fight I want to see. Boxer vs. puncher. But in all, I think Cotto could pull this off with their intelligence in the ring and his blinding hand speed.

I know you probably think we're thinking a little too far, but if Cotto could move to its next rival, which is to be able to set up a rematch with Margarito in June 09. That will probably take place around the Puerto Rican Day Parade, which means you probably struggle at Madison Square Garden. So if Cotto is the warrior who think it is, I doubt he will lose in front of all Puerto Ricans.

We are thinking a little too far. Do not even know who is going to be next opponent for Margarito. Top Rank has been saying that if you can not find a match for Margarito in early January, the rematch will place as soon as February. I just want to see that rematch, regardless of when they take place.
