University of Tennessee Athletics: their fans and Traditions
People either love or hate the crazy fun sporting traditions of the University of Tennessee Volunteers. This article reviews some of the best known traditions of the fans and teams. You be the judge: are they fun, or over the top and unpleasant?
Anyone who has visited Knoxville, Tennessee knows that Knoxville and the rest of East Tennessee becomes a sea of loud, orange-clad UT fans whenever the time game rolls around. And game time rolls around often!
The Big Orange madness goes all the way from before the first football match origin to the end of the basketball season, and many die hard fans, it never stops! Heated debates about the new recruits, how the coaches are doing, and last season from the next season will keep going while UT Vol fans is based on the spring and summer.
UT football is more than play, as many Vol fans, it's a lifestyle. The energy of each game is based on the point of explosion when over 100,000 fans line Vol Walk route for the game on Saturday.
When the results of Big Orange, fireworks explode from the top of Neyland Stadium, and 100,000 Rocky Top strong crowd roars with pride of the Southland marching band. All together, it is an incredible experience to be part of.
One thing is certain: the enthusiasm madman who is Big Orange Country, a great support for UT Athletics, and the players and coaches know that the fans play an important role in the success of athletics at UT.
Another long standing tradition of football is the pride of UT of the Southland marching band. On game day, the band follows a sequence that leads to parade through the center of campus, Neyland Stadium, in the field, and ends with the opening of the T, through which the football team runs at the start of the game.
Many young players (UT and fans of all ages) dream of running through the big T is the Pride!
University of Tennessee, fans have also made "Rocky Top" a tradition of volunteering at sporting events. If you do not know the song before going to a UT game (not very likely – but any thing is possible), definitely we'll know by the end of the game. The more well-made play UT, you'll know better!
In 1962, George Mooney, a body Tennessee Broadcasting previous UT began a tradition when he traveled by boat on the Tennessee River to Neyland Stadium during a football game at UT. The idea was success, and soon many people traveled to games by boat began to call themselves Volunteer Navy.
The Vol Navy has become a giant Floating gate party often more than 200 ski and fishing boats, yachts and houseboats that arrive and drop anchor in each game day.
Here are something seems to be becoming a new tradition UT Athletics: men's basketball coach at UT, Bruce Pearl (which is in its much-anticipated second season of the UT), had spread to his players to the outputs of the Thompson-Bowling arena to thank the fans (both at home and away fans) to support the team after their first home game, and invited fans to come back. And Pearl was there on an outing with them.
Is not it great?! Undoubtedly, stuck with a lot of fans who were in the game, and Tennessee has broght in increasing numbers.
These are just some of the traditions that teams and fans to follow in the University of Tennessee athletic events. In fact, going to see a University of Tennessee game is a unique experience that every fan will enjoy class!
