Understand the use of intumescent strips and their role in combating outbreaks of fire
In this modern time and age, science has provided the world with fire protection devices to satisfy different needs of many people. Types and Terms use
Intumescent strips can be classified into two main types. These are the hard intumescent intumescent char expansion and smooth. Hard intumescent expansion generally used for door seals are combined with sodium silicate to create products that fill and expand the spaces. Alternatively, soft intumescent char is used in combination with a carbohydrate. It is capable of releasing water to keep the product cool and insulate against heat for at least 120 minutes. In the use of these strips, it is advisable not used in areas that are continuously subjected to wet or damp conditions. These strips may be suitable for areas with a temperature above 49 degrees Celsius.
Proper installation
These strips should be properly installed to ensure it is able to offer maximum results.
• The first thing you do is make sure the channel light-gauge metal and ceiling are clean.
• unroll the adhesive strip and apply one strand along the entire length of metal chain and remove the release paper. Remember that you should be able to do this without stretching process.
• Ensure that the seal remains in the area where you meet other chapter. This is usually at the bottom plate of the head.
Intumescent strips can not be popular like fire extinguishers, fire blankets and smoke alarms, but the installation of these strips in your home can be considered another great method to keep it safe.
